Originally hailing from Vancouver, BC, Paula Oliver is a Canadian cabaret and burlesque pioneer, with 17 years of performances under her belt. She started her performance career dancing with The Karen Jamieson Dance Co., then became a member and performer with The Fluffgirl Burlesque Society and The Wormwood Bros. Circus Sideshow.
After working in film and theatre for many years as an actor/dancer/body-double/circus-arts inspiration, and a few stints in the wardrobe and props department, Paula developed her own non-profit theatre/dance troupe in 1998. The Empire Follies troupe toured the U.S. and Canada to great success for four years.
In 2003, Paula moved to Seattle and joined the internationally-acclaimed Atomic Bombshells and has been performing with them world-wide under the moniker “Ivy St. Spectre” while still performing under her ‘Canadian persona’, Babette La Fave. Since living in Seattle, Paula has also contributed her talents to the steam-punk group, The Bad Things, and choreographed and performed with the now defunct, 24 piece, political-punk-activist marching band, The Infernal Noise Brigade. She was voted Best Cabaret Entertainer for 2007 by Seattle Weekly magazine and has been featured in countless magazines, documentaries, and television features. (GQ Spain, Tease!, A Wink and a Smile).
